Welcome to Ms. Guiry’s Homebase

Tuesday, August 20th, 2013

Welcome to the blog for our Grade 7 Advisory.

We are pleased to launch our new Advisory program in the Middle School this year, which we further developed from our previous homebase program. We meet every Monday and Wednesday. Our advisory is part of the same house, Tarsiers, and we take part in house activities together.

Advisory is an opportunity for your child to make connections with other students in a smaller setting, and a place to further support your child’s social and emotional well-being at school. We will work together to build relationships, enhance our organizational and decision-making skills, and have fun together building a sense of community.

Welcome to Ms. Guiry’s Blog!

Learning English at ISM

The ESL curriculum at ISM focuses on the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. To achieve academic competency in English, your child is integrated in all of the mainstream classes and supported by a language specialist who co-teaches with the core teachers to ensure that your child has access to the curriculum. Combining language and content instruction is essential if your child is to develop both his/her language skills and cognitive skills.
