Welcome to the blog for our Grade 7 Advisory.
We are pleased to launch our new Advisory program in the Middle School this year, which we further developed from our previous homebase program. We meet every Monday and Wednesday. Our advisory is part of the same house, Tarsiers, and we take part in house activities together.
Advisory is an opportunity for your child to make connections with other students in a smaller setting, and a place to further support your child’s social and emotional well-being at school. We will work together to build relationships, enhance our organizational and decision-making skills, and have fun together building a sense of community.
It was such a pleasure to see so many parents and children engaged in rich conversations about learning during our ‘Student’Led Conferences’ on March 7. Your children enjoyed their time with you and the opportunity to share with you their work at school and focus on their strengths while at the same time sharing some of their areas for improvement. Their pride was clearly evident!
Please enjoy some of the pictures from our sessions:
Your child participated in a range of experiences during our CWW week in February. Your child may have been learning how to work with special needs children from Cottelengo, building relationships with children from Love2Learn, sharing stories with children from a school for the deaf, getting their hands dirty painting, moving sand, and constructing houses with Habitat for Humanity, and cooking lunch for children from a school in Cuatro. Your child learned some valuable lessons about working with others, the importance of community service, and developed a sense of empathy.
Please enjoy the photos from our trip last year so you will have an idea about the variety of exciting activities your child will have an opportunity to explore.
